Author, Cheryl Ryan (Harshman) Comes to the Library, December 5th

We invite children of all ages to our Christmas Program on December 5th, at 11:00 a.m. Along with our special guests, the Bellaire Elementary School Kindergarten students, you will be entertained by children’s author, Cheryl Ryan Harshman. She will read from her book, entitled, “Christmas Morning”, published by Scholastic Books.  Crafts, snacks and sing-a-long with Jennifer will also be provided.

Cheryl Ryan Harshman has been telling stories to children and the young at heart for nearly three decades.As a children’sphoto of Cheryl Harshman librarian, she honed these storytelling skills while passionately uniting readers with children’s books. Christmas Morning comes from her many pre-school story hour sessions at the library. 

The author of two other picture books for children, Sally Arnold (Cobblehill/Dutton) and Red Are the Apples, written with her husband Marc Harshman (Harcourt), her writing often celebrates traditional Appalachian folk culture and rural life. Raised in Ohio, Cheryl has lived her adult life in West Virginia where she plants a garden each spring.

Holding degrees from Bethany College and the University of Pittsburgh, Cheryl is currently Library Director at West Liberty University.
