Dan Frizzi will present "River Crossings of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroads" on February 20th at 6:00p.m. This will be the last of the Winter History Series that was sponsored by the Bellaire Public Library and the Great Stone Viaduct Historical Educational Society. The well-received Winter History Series continues on Wednesday, February 6th at 6:00 with Richard Phillips.
The presentation is titled "Arthur St. Clair, The Invisible Patriot," which is also the title of his new book. It is an historical commentary about the mostly unreported life of one of our greatest patriots and founding fathers.
"Few know about St. Clair's major efforts in Pennsylvania, Ohio and the Revolutionary War, or that he was one of Washington's most trusted major generals and political allies as congressman, president and territorial governor of the great northwest,", stated Phillips. He also points out that St. Clair's role in the Pultney-St. Clairsville county seat story, will always be of interest in Bellaire.
Phillips is a Clevelander who first learned his trade as corporate communications manager and magazine editor for a Fortune 500 and then headed the PR Dept. for a Cleveland ad agency. He was recruited to build a PR Division for a Phoenix ad firm and during the next 25 years eventually opened his own PR-Media Advocacy firm. He and his wife moved to the Ohio Valley six years ago to be nearer to family and to begin researching and writing for newspapers and magazines about pioneers and patriots who influenced the area.
